Preston Community Transport takes delivery of 2 DFT Funded Mellor Coachcraft Orions
Preston Community Transport, established in 1988 are a community-based charity that offers a number of transport services in the Preston and South Ribble areas including a door to door dial-a-ride service and helping people to access local supermarkets and hospitals. They also organise group days out to locations such as Bury market, Garstang, Kendal and Southport.
Mellor’s Fiat Ducato conversion is the intelligent choice for a hard working community based vehicle, the composite external panels are cost effective as they are inexpensive to replace and no paint is required. It can seat a maximum of 16 seats and 5 wheelchair passengers. Preston Community Transport commented that the low floor would be a big advantage for the older passengers that they carry and they were pleased with tried and tested reliability of the Mellor Fiat Ducato.
Preston Community Transport’s specification includes: Tachograph, cab air conditioning system, 2 x manual rear doors, rapid side sliding electric door with locking, front Ramp with centre handle, microswitch and buzzer, 2.5m long fold out ramp to rear, Eberspacher Air Heater and Cant rail tracking.
