Mellor further expands European distributorship network with new agreement for the Benelux region
Continuing with its European expansion drive, Mellor has signed a new distributorship agreement with E-Bus of the Netherlands, which also includes Belgium and Luxembourg. E-Bus is part of Rewin BV which includes Kenbri Fire Fighting and Emoss Mobile Systems. E-Bus will be providing all sales, aftersales, service and spare parts for Mellor customers within the region.
Following similar deals covering Scandinavia, Germany and Austria, the latest agreement gives E-Bus exclusive sales rights for the Benelux region on Mellor’s left hand drive vehicles, including the Orion E fully low floor all electric small bus and Strata low floor models. There are plans to market the Tucana II once the new entity is fully established and underway.
Edwin Hobbel, Managing Director for Rewin, said:
“It is good to be working with Mellor, they are extremely forward thinking in their approach to product development and we believe our companies enjoy an excellent synergy that will enable us to develop a successful and mutually beneficial working relationship.
“There is a definite gap in the Benelux market for small buses with both diesel and electric drive trains. We see the Orion E as the perfect fit for operators looking for smaller vehicles with the benefit of zero emissions. We are a forward thinking company and our imaginative approach coupled with that of Mellor led to our initial collaboration. The relationship has now grown and we are very excited about introducing the Orion E, along with the Strata range to customers in our region.
“We’re confident that the Strata low floor, with its impressive passenger capacity and Euro 6 diesel engine, will prove to be very popular with our customers. While there is a great deal of interest and activity surrounding electric buses at the moment, it is also important to be able to offer quality, efficient and low emission diesel vehicles for those who want them and the Strata will provide an excellent solution.”
John Randerson, Managing Director for Mellor, said:
“Our latest distributorship means that we now have sales and aftermarket representation in eight European countries – Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. We are now very well positioned to penetrate the European small bus market, a strategy which we’ll be officially launching at Busworld Europe in Kortrijk this October.
“E-Bus will be joining us on our stand at Busworld and we are very excited to be introducing the Orion E and our other vehicle ranges to the European bus sector at the show.”
Mellor will be on stand 919A in hall 9 at Busworld Europe, Kortrijk – 20 – 25 October 2017.
