Lincolnshire County Council has recently taken delivery of two new Strata low floor buses to operate on its CallConnect network – the Council’s demand responsive transport solution to provide bus services in rural communities.

The vehicles have been deployed with Sleafordian Coaches, serving the area around Sleaford and also with TransportConnect for a semi-flexible route between Grantham and Stamford.

Engineered with accessibility in mind, the Strata offers a variety of internal layout configurations to accommodate the needs of less able passengers and is able to operate in areas that could prove problematic for some traditional buses due to their size and weight.

Mellor believes the Strata is becoming the model of choice for many customers due to its modern feel and class-leading performance. It also provides cost savings in terms of initial purchase price and ongoing running fees, which makes it an ideal option for organisations with limited budgets.

Approximately one-fifth of their existing fleet is made up of Mellor buses, so it’s great to see that our customers value our products and want to come back for more.”
